
On July 2, 2003, the International Olympic Committee chose Vancouver as the Host City of the 2010 Winter Games.
The City of Vancouver plans to use the 2010 Winter Games to establish physical, social, economic, and environmental legacies to benefit its citizens.

As the host city for the 2010 Winter Games, Vancouver is host to seven (7) of the 15 competition and non-competition venues.
The City of Vancouver will also host a Celebration Site that will feature activities for the public free of charge including live concerts, performances, festivities and the broadcasting of Games' events on giant screens.
