Working through Canada’s network of missions around the world, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) is engaging with business leaders, political figures and foreign media to heighten international awareness of Canada as a destination and partner for global business.
DFAIT has launched a campaign “2010 Reasons to do Business in Canada”, to draw prospective investors to Canada’s doorstep. As part of a comprehensive strategy targeting business and media in priority markets across Asia, North America and Europe, DFAIT will showcase Canadian expertise through a variety of promotional and marketing materials, videos, images and success stories. From Tokyo to Beijing, Oslo, Paris and San Francisco, Canada’s missions are spreading the message at investment- and trade-related events, including exhibitions, trade shows and international conferences, and will continue to do so through Games-time and beyond.
In Canada, the Department is managing strategic foreign business media tours, and will welcome key investment prospects to Vancouver before and during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. At the same time, DFAIT is assisting with international emergency management and protocol-related aspects of the Games.
