Venues for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games

The Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia are equal contributors to VANOC’s capital plan to support the construction and renovation of core 2010 Winter Games venues, including seven new state-of-the-art venues.

Both governments have each made an investment of $290 million to the capital plan for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

For the first time in the history of the Olympic Winter Games, all venues for the events will be completed well in advance of the Opening Ceremonies, which will enable Canadian athletes to train on the competition sites.

To ensure that this home-field advantage continues to benefit all Canadians long after 2010, organizing partners for the Games, including the Government of Canada, have made investments to a Legacy Endowment Fund.
